Native Instruments Maschine drum kits don't follow a consistent MIDI mapping scheme. This means most kits won't trigger the correct sounds making it difficult and time consuming to use commercial MIDI files. But we have a solution for you!
To use our files, simply create a new drum kit or rearrange an existing one to match the custom Maschine mapping we've developed. Our kit mapping not only solves this problem but it has 3 open slots allowing you to use additional sounds, if necessary.
This guide will walk you through obtaining the MIDI files, configuring your kit according to our mapping, and adjusting key settings to ensure everything works as intended.
Getting the MIDI Files
The MIDI files for Maschine are available upon request. After making a purchase, email us to request the files for your order.Â
Configuring Your Drum Kit
To use the MIDI files with Maschine, you'll need to rearrange your drum kit sounds to match our custom Maschine mapping.
Download our Maschine Kit Mapping PDF for the complete layout.

Moving Kit Sounds
Section 4.2.7 'Moving Sounds' of the Maschine Mk3 Manual describes how to move sounds in your drum kit via drag and drop. Note that 'pre-listen' (speaker button) must be turned off during this process.
Setting Up a Hi-Hat Choke Group
For realistic hi-hat behavior, configure a choke group between your open and closed hi-hats. Section 5.1.4 'Using Choke Groups' of the Maschine Mk3 Manual describes how to add choke groups if your kit doesn't already have one configured.
Enabling MIDI Triggering
Finally, set the Key Mode to 'Drumkit' in your Group settings to ensure MIDI patterns trigger the correct drum sounds. Section 11.2.1 'Triggering Sounds via MIDI Notes' of the Maschine Mk3 Manual covers this setting in detail.
