Mac App to Audition MIDI

Mac App to Audition MIDI

Posted by Groove Monkee on

NINZYA MIDI is a powerful, inexpensive app for auditioning audio and MIDI files. It includes some decent drum sounds but it also lets you audition MIDI files using your AU or VST3 instruments. The app is stable, sounds good and is very reasonably priced (currently $12 as of November 2026). It's compatible with both Mac and Windows. A trial version is available.

If you're recording software (e.g. Logic or Garage Band) doesn't audition MIDI files, this app offers a great solution!

Key features:

  • Mac and Windows compatible
  • Audio and MIDI file browsing and preview
  • Drag and Drop to your DAW
  • Good drum sounds
  • MIDI file preview using your favorite AU/VST3 instruments
  • Ableton Link for automatic tempo and beat synchronization

In the section below, I'll discuss all of the controls and features you need to know to start using the app immediately.
