This is documentation for our Conga Toolbox MIDI pack.

IMPORTANT: To use our Conga Toolbox pack you need at least ONE of the following:

  • Ableton Live Latin Percussion pack
  • Logic Pro 10+
  • Toontrack Latin Cuban Percussion EZX
  • Toontrack Latin Percussion EZX
  • Battery 3 Afro-Cuban Percussion samples
Note: the Battery 3 samples can be played using Battery 4. We provide kits for both Battery 3 and Battery 4. Our kits do NOT include the drum samples.
The following sections provide additional information for each supported format.

Ableton Live Documentation

To use this this product with Live, you'll need the Ableton 'Latin Percussion' pack.
Installation
To find the files for Live, open the 'Ableton Live' folder of your download. Inside, you'll find the files stored in a folder named 'Conga Toolbox'.
For convenience, you can store the MIDI files in the 'Clips' folder of your Live 'User Library'. To find this folder, right click on the 'Clips' folder and select either 'Show in Finder' or 'Show in Explorer'.
Live Drum Racks
You can use any of the three Latin Percussion Conga Instrument Kits.

Logic Pro Documentation

To use this this product with Logic Pro, you'll need the Conga 'Performance' instruments. Please see the section named 'How to load an instrument' if you're not sure if you have the required instruments.
Logic Pro Conga Instruments
The files are mapped for Logic's 'Conga Performance' instruments:
1. Conga Performance
2. Conga Bright Performance
Note: the 'bright' performance congas are generally higher in pitch.
How to load an instrument
  1. Open the sounds Library (press 'Y')
  2. Select 'Drums and Percussion'
  3. Next, select 'Percussion' then 'Performance instruments'
  4. Choose either Conga Performance or Conga Bright Performance
Importing MIDI files
You can import MIDI files into Logic in one of two ways:
1. Drag and drop the files onto an instrument track
2. Use the menu: File > Import > MIDI file
Installation
MIDI files cannot be installed into Logic. You can save the files in any convenient location such as your 'Documents' folder.

Battery Documentation

To use this product, you'll need the Afro-Cuban samples from Battery 3. We provide kits (NOT the samples) for both Battery 3 and Battery 4.
Installation
Copy our 'Expanded Afro-Cuban Kit' into the folder named '03 - Percussion Kits' inside your Battery 3 Library.
After copying our kit as described above, start Battery and click on the 'Files' tab
Navigate to the 'Battery 3 Library' folder on your hard drive and double click to enter it.
Next, double click on the folder '03 - Percussion Kits' and you should see the new kit.
Loading the kit
When you first load the kit, Battery probably won't find the samples. If you get a "Missing Samples" error, select “Search Library” and check “Apply to other Battery instances” so you won't have to search every time you load the kit.

Toontrack Documentation

We provide two sets of MIDI files for Toontrack. One for the Latin Cuban Percussion EZX and one for the Latin Percussion EZX. You'll find the files inside the 'Toontrack' folder of your download. The percussion expansion kits can be used with either EZdrummer or Superior Drummer.

Toontrack Installation

We have MIDI installation instructions for EZdrummer and Superior Drummer on our "Installation and Support" page:
