As a mediocre bass player, I need inspiration to create bass guitar riffs for my own songs. These are perfect!

This is the next best thing to hiring a top session bassist to play on your track. The added flexibility of the MIDI track, enabling you to change key, add fills or customise the lines at will, makes Rock Songs Bass MIDI an extremely valuable compositional and production tool. One criticism - I hope constructive - would be for the accompanying PDF to show a single song (rather than two or three) per page, to simplify the task of adding chords to the basslines. Other than that, this is the perfect 'optional extra' to augment Groove Monkee's Rock 2 MIDI drums.

Store owner replied: Thanks Chris! We have revised the documentation as you suggested.

I haven't done any songwriting with these yet however I have gone in and listened to some in Logic/EZ Drummer. They are nicely played and should be an asset. EZ Bass doesn't come with a wide range of MIDI snippets and this should help.

Nice bass midi pack. Very useful. You guys should make more of the bass stuff 👍👍👍

I wanted to make a backing track for someone and it was super easy and fun with this pack and a few others. Overall I’m very satisfied with the quality of this pack as usual with Groove Monkee.

These MIDI sequences are really valuable time savers when building a new piece of music. It's easy to find and select bits and pieces, line them up in Cubase, my sequencer of choice, organise and arrange them into something resembling a beginning of a piece of music. Then you can manipulate and alter them to suit the piece you're working on. The fact that real players created their groove(s) is perhaps the most important thing about this product. I recently wrote a blues thing in a boogie/shuffle feel and whoever played on these files is really good, what a groove that tune has! There's nothing as annoying as a robotic, 'stick to the grid' dead feel in a song or other sort music. Thank you for a wonderful, useful and affordable product, amazing times we live in, once upon a time my four track 'simul sync' Teac was the bees knees, heh heh. If you're interested in hearing the afore mentioned boogie, it's on the 'tube' and is named 'Boogie Europesque': https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFpcecyG6M4tyXvqzh7ohXA

These tracks are great! Unlike samples that are all but editable, midi tracks can easily be edited to suit your needs. Change the key, the bpm, the phrase itself. I start off using these bass midi tracks as inspiration and then tailor them to me needs as I go along. Awesome!

Store owner replied: Thanks Timothy!

I got the Rock Songs collection of bass lines because I needed ideas. I am a competent guitarist but without a lot of expertise on bass. I have played my own bass lines in my recordings but I love the Rock Songs collection for the ideas that I get from it. Not sure I could write entire songs using these bass lines as they are. While they are very good, I would have to write my songs around them. Instead, I can play along with them and develop my own ideas. Or mix'n'match parts from various tracks to form a composite. These are definitely useful and certainly worth the price. Highly recommended.

Awesome do buy this you'll be happier for it

Rock Songs Bass MIDI

Can assemble the Bass midi quite easily. Bass is recognisable

Rock Songs Bass MIDI

There aren't many bass midi grooves around (unless you buy EZBass) so these are a great buy. A great starting point for a song, especially since they sync with the rock drums grooves.

Rock Songs Bass MIDI

great work as always thank you hey guys i think i ask before but more complete songs of classic rock songs of 60s 70s and 80s would be greate for example jail break that was a song my band use to play in the 70s and it was nice to play along with the drums same for bass that would be cool thanks ron

Rock Songs Bass MIDI GrooveMonkee's Rock Songs Bass MIDI pack is a bit of a disappointment, as the included grooves lack anything in the way of human articulation; they seem to have been made using a keyboard rather than a bass. That said, this is the only GrooveMonkee product with which I have been disappointed. I hope now that Toontrack has EZBass on the market, GrooveMonkee will be able to make and release some quality bass MIDI -- particularly given the fact that their drum MIDI packs are such a great value compared to Toontrack's equivalents.

Store owner replied: Hi James and thank you for your review. The parts were indeed recorded using an electric bass and converted to MIDI. With MIDI, you can only capture the note and it's velocity. There's no standard mapping for articulations like slides, bends, etc. But with some appropriate effects and mixing, they do work well in a mix.

Not bad Overall this site has good Midi packs. I really like the drum kits but when I got this one I was not super impressed. Maybe I need to check them out again.

Rock Songs Bass Midi The Rock bass and drum loops fill a gap in my collection and it's very nice to jam along. I'm using them in EZDrummer 2 with no problems at all. I'm looking forward to get more loops. :-)

not yet completely used your Midi files, because I have problems using them with Cusase Elements About your Midi files that I bought, probably I didn't download the Rock and the Blues bass ones, and please maybe you could check about it. The fact is that there are a lot of midi files ad I didn't have the time to verify all of them. I tried to use some of them with Cubase Element 7 but, even if the Midi files are uploaded in Cubase, indeed others track , Halion tracks, opened with and I couldn't cancel them all. Today I have bought Cubase pro 9,5 and will try, with the new release, to test the functionality of the software together your Midi files. Thanks for now and old on. Vincenzo D'Amato, Milano Italy

Groove Monkee saved my brain! I was not only bereft of the bass I was looking for, I was deep in the pit of writers block despair on the song I was writing - I tried several bass riffs of my own, nothing was working. So I turned to my secret weapon, GrooveMonkee. I put a riff together and voila, not only did I solve my bass problem, it took my song in completely new direction. This is not the first time that I have used the "Monkee" but the first time it actually took my project in a new direction - for that I am eternally grateful and award the Monkee five bananas... err stars Cindy RedRaven- Sounds
